I’ve got some exciting news, guys. For the first time ever, I’m going to start trusting my eyes when I create my VR experiences, and I’m going to quit measuring anything. It’s going to be fun, especially if it works! I’ll be monitoring what I’m doing with a 3D TV, an Oculus Rift, and Gear VR with my fan-cooled Samsung Galaxy S8, as I’m doing in this video.
This is creepy news, so I made this video just in time for Halloween.
Here’s the actual field of view of the 3D Weeview camera, confirmed with a compass app on my phone—nowhere near 160 degrees or 90 degrees.
BTW, the images on this 360 degree photo cube were shot with my new Samsung Galaxy S8 cell phone.
Fearful that my new, expensive Samsung Galaxy S8 would end up in a washing machine, I returned the socks I stole from Janice that I intended to use as a cell phone cover. Now I’m looking for a real protective covering for the phone.
Unfortunately, I’ve spent so much money trying to get this Samsung Galaxy S8 set up for virtual reality, I can’t afford a cover to protect the camera lens, and to keep the slick phone from falling out of my pocket. Don’t worry, though—I stole a pair of Janice’s cute socks.
