Hot Virtual Reality

Everything seems to be getting hot around here, but I’m going to do something to stop that!
BTW, I realize my backdrop is too small for this 160 degree FOV camera, but I’m not sure what to do about that.

Cheap DIY Steady Camera Idea

Here’s a very simple and cheap (but effective) steady camera idea for stabilizing a small handheld camera when shooting video. In the video on the left, I show and explain how I used it for shooting the video on the right.

A Perfect Steady Camera

I think I found the perfect amount of weight to add to a small handheld camera for shooting stabilized video, but first let’s look at shooting video with no weight, then adding 2 lbs of weight, then 8 lbs. BTW, this video (on the right) is 24fps, which is inherently jerky, so I’ll also be doing this with cameras that shoot 30fps and 60fps.

Steady Camera

I shot the video on the right with a large steel wrench hanging from the thumb of my right hand, hoping it keeps the camera from shaking. What do you think?—did it work?

A Closer View Through The Window

I’ve moved the 360° camera closer to the window.
Hope this helps.
